his half-day workshop will focus on the value of selling via a stockist / retailer versus selling direct via your own website and will explore:
How to cost & price your work for wholesale sales
Researching your market
How to target & approach the right buyers
Using social media to approach buyers /stockist and raise your profile
Preparing for a Trade Show
Building and maintaining relationships with buyers
How to negotiate with a buyer
The workshop will engage participants during the session to answer questions about their own business and complete a worksheet which will provide the basis for a retail strategy for their own business. At the end of the workshop participants will have created a document which gives an outline of their own retail strategy regarding wholesale sales, targeting stockists and 3 main goals to prioritise going forward.

Fiona Chautard is a qualified business coach, experienced mentor and adviser to the creative industries with a specialism in fashion, textiles and design. She is the specialist industry adviser for fashion, textiles and retail at Textiles Scotland, Cultural Enterprise Office and Fashion Foundry where she advises & mentors creative businesses and individuals. She is a mentor for the Craft Council and Fashion Foundry and serves on advisory boards at Caledonian University and Textiles Scotland.
